Guided tour in Tuscany: Montepulciano and San Quirico d'Orcia

Montepulciano and San Quirico d'Orcia... two of the most enchanting towns in Tuscany

Guided tours in Montepulciano

Your English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel in Rome and whisk you away from the chaos of the city.

An official guide will lead you to discover this charming village.
Montepulciano is built along a narrow limestone ridge at 605m above sea level. The town is encircled by walls and fortifications designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder in 1511 for Cosimo I.
Inside the walls, the streets are crammed with Renaissance-styled palazzi and churches, but the town is chiefly known for its good local "Vino Nobile" wines.
A long, winding street called the Corso climbs up into the main square, which crowns the summit of the hill.

San Quirico is, undoubtedly, Etruscan.  The tour begins with "La Cinta Muraria;" at present, there is a large part of the town walls still standing and 14 small towers are still visible, although some of them are incorporated into other buildings.
The present church is built upon the old parish church, which we know dated from the 8th century.
You will visit Palazzo Chigi, next to the Collegiata and opposite the "palazzo pretorio" (magisterial palace) which adjoins two mediaeval features.

Drop off to the hotel at the end of the day.
