The town of Bevagna dates back to ancient Roman times and has preserved - almost intact - its medieval urban texture, which makes Bevagna an excellent example of a town plan. The town can be accessed through the many medieval gates that open in the round of ancient defensive walls, which walls are also rich in towers and ramparts. Many artisans’ workshops can be visited in the historical center, along the many characteristic alleys; arts and crafts are still very active in Bevagna
